ATTENDANCE
The Bluff Creek Elementary Garden was planted in 2015 and has continued to grow each year. The BCE Garden is planted by students and is meant to be shared with all BCE families. Families are welcome to visit the garden at any time.
Improvements
The Garden received a grant from the PTO for the 2022-23 school year to rebuild the garden beds and make other maintenance improvements needed for the garden space.
Learning
Through the garden students get to explore and learn about science and nature in and out of the classroom. Students love going out to the garden to plant, explore, harvest, and learn.
Spring Planting
Each spring students plant the seeds that get transferred and planted in the garden. Any extra plants leftover after the garden is planted are given to BCE families. This helps bring the gardening project full circle, making it a BCE community garden.
Fall Harvest
The Gifted Services and SPARK Lab plan a harvest festival during a fall week. Students explore the garden and see the fruits of their labor from the previous spring and summer.
Summer Watering
Families have an opportunity to sign up to water the garden during the summer months and take any veggies that have grown. The watering schedule will be shared in the spring and available for sign up using Sign Up Genius.
Volunteer
Be on the lookout for opportunities to help the Garden.
