Welcome to Bluff Creek Elementary! Starting at a new school or starting a new school year can be stressful. Our goal is to be a resource for new and prospective families.
PBIS
PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) is Bluff Creek’s behavior and support program which students know as PAW PRIDE. Students are expected to R.O.A.R. with pride by being:

Open and Cooperative
Always Safe and
Responsible
Students who consistently ROAR will be acknowledged through various PAW PRIDE events. You may hear your student mention “PAW PRIDE tickets” which is just one of the ways students are acknowledged.
ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
School begins at 8:30 a.m. Students may arrive to school and wait outside the main office beginning at 8:20 a.m. The school day ends at 3:00 pm. If you will be picking up your student, please notify their homeroom teacher ahead of time that your child will be office pickup. If your student is going to take the bus to a friend’s house, a written note giving permission must be sent to school with your child.
BUS TRANSPORTATION
Bus transportation information is placed on Infinite Campus (Parent Portal) about 3 weeks before the start of school. Bus information is not mailed to homes. If your child is having trouble on the bus or you have concerns about the bus, please contact Mrs. Best at 952-556-6611.
ABSENCES
If your child will be absent from school please call 952-556-6619. This is the Nurse's voicemail box where you should leave your student's name, teacher and reason for absence. You may also email your student’s homeroom teacher if you would like. If you do not report your student’s absence you will receive an automated call informing you of the absence.
MORNING BROADCAST
Students watch the BCE News on television monitors in their homeroom. The news is hosted by 4th and 5th grade students and Mrs. Holm.
EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS
Watch for school closures on WCCO. BCE will be listed as “Eastern Carver County Schools”. Parents will be notified via phone to all numbers on file via automated phone system. Please have a school closing plan in place for your student in case of early closing. Normal bus routes are followed in the event of early closing. Instructions for your child in case of early closing will be kept on file.
LUNCH
Your student has a choice of bag lunch from home, hot lunch, and Yum Box (explained below).
Pre-pay lunch accounts are assigned to each student and may be paid for by check or online at www.mypaymentsplus.com. Check payments should be made payable to “District 112 Foodservice” and can be sent in an envelope with your student to be handed in to their homeroom teacher during the classroom morning routine. Please mark the envelope with your student’s name and homeroom teacher.
Applications for free and reduced lunch are available online at www.lunchapp.112online.org.

BCE CURRENT: PRINCIPAL'S NEWSLETTER
The Principal's Letter is a weekly e-newsletter sent to BCE families. You may also receive emails from homeroom teachers and specialists. You can subscribe to the Principal's Letter on the school website where you will also find valuable information including teacher contact info, curriculum information and educational app links. SCHOOL STORE
The School Store is open on Fridays during lunch break. Students must eat prior to visiting the store. Students from 4th and 5th grade help other students tally up their purchases and pay. an be shopped over lunch break is provided to students to purchase items such as pencils, erasers, fun school supply items etc. The PTO operates the school store and supplies with items like pencils, erasers, and other fun school supply items. Profits are used to supplement school programs. Students are limited to a $5.00 maximum purchase.
ONLINE DIRECTORY
The PTO provides an Online Directory for families to use to contact other BCE families. This online directory is safe and secure and allows families to share as much or as little information as they feel comfortable with.
